Grettel Wong joins us in episode 31 to tell her story of growing up in Columbia and her mom leaving her and her sister at the age of 9 to come to America and build a life for them. Now having two girls of her own, she talks about now understanding how hard that sacrifice was for her mom to leave her children for 5 years in order to provide them with the best opportunities.  Grettel’s story is so endearing as she explains the challenges of coming to America at a young age, not being able to speak the language, and other cultural differences. The joy of being back with her mother and the excitement of opportunity pulled her through and ultimately made her who she is today. Listen to the full episode!
